A static periodic table poster answers "what's element 26" and stops there. The Interactive Periodic Table covers all 118 confirmed elements with search, block/category filtering, and — the part a poster can't do — a temperature slider that recolors every tile by its physical phase at that temperature.

Phase at a given temperature

Move the slider and each element's tile updates to reflect solid, liquid, or gas at that specific Kelvin value, computed from each element's known melting and boiling points. It's a fast way to build intuition that's easy to forget from a table alone: at room temperature only two elements are liquid (mercury and bromine), and only eleven are gases — everything else you'll ever handle directly is solid.

What each tile actually tells you

Click any element for its electron configuration, oxidation states, electronegativity, atomic mass, and which block (s, p, d, f) it belongs to — the block that determines where its valence electrons sit and, largely, how it bonds. Filtering by category (alkali metal, noble gas, transition metal, and so on) or block narrows the grid to just the elements sharing that classification, useful for spotting periodic trends visually rather than from a table of numbers.

Comparison mode

Select up to a few elements and their properties line up side by side — the fastest way to answer "why does sodium react so differently from chlorine" by looking at electron configuration and electronegativity directly next to each other, instead of flipping between two entries.

Studying with it

Search works by name, symbol, or atomic number, so quizzing yourself by typing an atomic number and checking the highlighted tile works as a quick self-test. For turning that into structured spaced-repetition practice, pair it with the Flashcards & Spaced Repetition tool; if the periodic table is part of coursework with a grade attached, the GPA & Grade Calculator tracks where that grade needs to land.
